Thank you for your interest in joining the State Attorney’s Office. We’re an office committed to seeking justice in every case we handle. We seek to employ hard-working individuals who possess good character, a strong sense of ethics, and a commitment to public service. We serve Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties and have four offices located in Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton, and Arcadia.

We offer a comprehensive training for new attorneys, as well as in-house continuing legal education and training through the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys’ Association (FPAA), and other law enforcement entities at various conferences and seminars offered throughout the year.

It’s our goal to help our attorneys grow in all aspects of litigation and advocacy as we promote the principles of justice, service and accountability.  As a team, our goal is to provide service to crime victims, our community, our citizens, and the law enforcement agencies in our region.

In addition to our lawyers, we employ a professional staff of legal assistants who provide support to our attorneys in the misdemeanor, juvenile and felony divisions. Along with our legal assistants, we employ support staff in several different capacities as needed to support the work of the State Attorney’s Office. Our support staff are an integral part of our office and our mission. Support staff provide vital support to our attorneys and ensure the efficient processing of cases through the court system.

We’re also excited to be able to offer opportunities for internships to high school, college and law school students. Law student internship opportunities are available through our office to those with or without their Certified Legal Internship status. Certified Legal Interns are students who have taken the required courses while in law school and have been certified by the Florida Supreme Court to serve as a Certified Legal Intern.

Law students that have graduated from an accredited law school are eligible for placement into our Law School Practice Program and are given the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience in the courtroom.
